I have a non aggressive tumour on my nose. Rather than just have surgery to remove it, I would like my whole nose looked at and reconstruction done at the same time. Is this possible, please?
Reconstruction of the nose sometimes follows aesthetic boundaries, in order to achieve a more pleasing and controlled result, as opposed to being confined to tumour resection margins.
There are indeed instances where a segment of the nose and occasionally the whole of those is treated although the tumour itself does not affect the whole area. The purpose of it is to generate a result that is aesthetically superior.
This is is something that you should discuss with your surgeon, and established together a plan of treatment that you are both comfortable with.
