I am interested in the cheek fat removal surgery.
Volume reduction in the cheeks can be achieved by means of liposuction, buccal fat reduction or a combination of the two.
Typically, in consultation I use 3-D imaging and simulation to understand the degree of change that patients would like to achieve and provide guidance regarding the type of treatment that would be most suitable.
Buccal fat reduction tends to have smaller variations lifelong whereas the superficial fatty tissue (the one treated through liposuction) has more significant ones in relation to weight variations and ageing.
