Question

I am planning to undertake inguinal hernia repair and I was thinking would it be possible to have abdominoplasty in same surgery?

Answer

Yes indeed, in principle it is fine, but I would need to discuss with your surgeon that if on one side there is weakness but not formal hernia, and we are looking at repairing the abdominal wall after pregnancy for instance, both inguinal regions need to be reinforced. This is because the increased intra-abdominal pressure may make the area that is just weak become formal hernia.

A consultation would therefore be necessary to establish the parameters.
