Question

I had a rhinoplasty done 17 years ago and I feel like nose tip is too round and when I smile as if it was pointing down.

I spoke to 3 other surgeons and they said my nose is fine that the difference I want is so small that it's not worth of operating.

I'm not sure if that is true or they just weren't that very skilled in sensitive operations like this.

Answer

I'm not sure whether during the consultations that you had, there was also some evaluation using computer imaging and simulation, in order to quantify the degree of change that you would like to see.

This sometimes helps to define whether it is reasonable to contemplate further treatment or not. In some instances, reinforcing the nasal tip support helps to avoid the change in shape when smiling, and sometimes it is a matter of also rotating slightly the nasal tip. A narrower appearance of the nasal tip is also possible, but has to be weighed against the possibility of producing an "operated" appearance which is counter-productive.
