I recently had a blepharoplasty done in Thailand. I was told that the swelling would go down within 10 days.
I had it done on 7th Feb and it's still swollen, I am know worried.
A degree of swelling is likely to still be present at this stage. Typically, it will take 3 to 4 months for the area to settle completely, although you would expect that by this stage it should be settled within a good range, allowing for return to work and socialising.
The swelling may be also indicative of problems, the most worrying of them being infection, and ideally you should either discuss this with your surgeon in Thailand as a matter of urgency, or to see another surgeon or the emergency services in the UK, in particular the swelling is associated with redness.
If the swelling is not associated with redness and the eyes appear normal and are comfortable, the residual swelling may also be related to more significant bruising in the early stages after surgery.
