Abdominoplasty Aesthetics
The shape of the abdomen changes during life for many reasons. Pregnancy, weight variations, the simple fact of ageing can create significant problems with the appearance of the abdomen, which do not necessarily resolve although they will often get better with exercise and weight control.
Abdomen muscles
In many instances, the muscles of the abdomen spread apart over several centimetres in association with pregnancy or weight gain, and there doesn't seem to be any way to correct this problem without surgery.
Treatment combinations
Increasingly, it is recognised that circumferential management of the waistline produces improved patient satisfaction. Since the flanks tend to suffer more from volume excess than loose skin, the combination of treatment frequently involves abdominoplasty and liposuction to the waistline.
There are also situations where the skin excess is significant around the waistline in which case the best results are obtained through body lift surgical interventions.
