I have breast implants since 2005 and recently ultrasound scan has revealed 50ml seroma in one of the breasts.
How complicated is it to have it drained, what's the downtime and how much will it cost?
Drainage of the seroma is usually carried out by radiologists under ultrasound control. I therefore cannot give you an indication regarding costs.
The current recommendation is that the fluid that is aspirated should be submitted for microbiology and cytology investigations also, in the case of recurrent seroma or one that occurs at the long interval following the augmentation.
