Question

I have had orthodontic treatment to correct my bite and straighten the teeth. Now that the teeth are correctly aligned, there is still some asymmetry of the face, due to how the bone developed. Therefore I am wondering if there is anything you can do to restore balance to the face as it is noticeable (chin seems more prominent to the left).

Answer

As you are describing, a centralising genioplasty may be the answer, in particular if there is no need for augmentation of the chin projection.

If the chin prominence also needs to be enhanced, a chin implant contoured asymmetric for compensation can also achieve this result.

For the centralising genioplasty, I would suggest that you discuss with a maxillofacial colleague, and I would suggest Mr Henri Thuau, with whom I also collaborate for facial sculpting surgery.
